Captivity

wild animal

got captured in 1983

since then been living

in captivity

people come see me

face on the glass

i just turn around

show them my ass

they clean my cage

give me a bath

they think i'm funny

chuckle and laugh

they give me a shot

feed me my food

i stare up at the moon

think it's rude

i want to run in the forest

i want to swim in the sea

i want to stand on the mountain

i just want to be free

days go by but who's counting?

here folks

take a drink from the golden fountain

piss and moan

trudge around

don't tap on the glass kids

don't like that sound

still scratch my head

about the day i got caught

why was i sold and bought?

wonder if this is what Jesus taught?

i want to smash through the cage

bend these bars

take your keys

steal your car

slap a rocket on it

fly to the moon

i won't be back to visit this zoo

anytime soon
